No More Tomorrows

The thought of one’s end is rarely considered in today’s culture. The imminence of death does not color the everydayness of existence. With this piece, I seek to present the tangible reality of Death to the viewer to make them ponder their own mortality.
Both the hole in the ground and the form in the gallery measure 6x3x8 ft which equal the official dimensions of a grave in the United States. I present the viewer with the repeating visual of me digging a grave on screen while simultaneously presenting them with the exact dimensions of the space that they will be placed into when they are buried. The sliver in the wall of the form allows one the ability to peer into the darkness within in order to ponder the unknown nature of Death itself.
